Convert a scanned bank statement to Excel
A scanned bank statement, whether it came from a mailed paper copy or an old photocopy, is a picture of text rather than text itself, which makes it harder to convert reliably. Upload your scanned PDF here and we run it through OCR to read the text before extracting transactions into an Excel or CSV file. Scanned statements are genuinely harder to process than statements exported directly as PDF, and they land in needs review more often because smudged print, skewed scans, and low resolution can trip up the text recognition. We'd rather tell you that honestly than hand you a spreadsheet with silently wrong numbers. When a scanned file does reconcile, we compare the recomputed running balance to the balances printed on the page, and a match still earns a verified badge, to the cent. Your file is deleted the moment conversion finishes, and the first conversion is free.

Verified, not guessed.
We reconcile every row against your statement's opening and closing balances, to the cent. Statements that don't reconcile are labeled for review, never silently delivered wrong.
Deleted immediately.
Your PDF is encrypted in transit and at rest, and deleted the moment conversion finishes. Not after 24 hours. Immediately. Converted files are kept 7 days so you can re-download, then deleted too.
Your data stays here.
Conversion runs on hardware we own. Your statement is never sent to a third-party AI service, and we never train anything on your data.
Frequently asked questions
Does this actually work on scanned or photographed statements?
Yes, we run OCR on scanned or photographed PDFs before extracting transactions. It works more often than not, but scanned files are genuinely harder to process than a statement exported directly as a PDF.
Why do scanned statements need review more often?
OCR has to read text from an image, and print quality, scan angle, and resolution all affect how well that works. When the OCR output is uncertain, the running balance often won't reconcile exactly, so we flag the file instead of guessing.
What can I do if my scanned statement lands in needs review?
Download the spreadsheet and compare it line by line against the scan, especially any rows that look garbled. If a cleaner PDF export is available from your bank, that will usually convert more reliably than a scan.
Does a blurry photo of a statement work at all?
It might, but low-resolution or blurry photos are the least reliable input we handle. A flatbed scan or a PDF exported directly from your bank's website will almost always work better.
Is my scanned statement stored anywhere after conversion?
No. It's encrypted in transit and at rest and deleted the moment conversion finishes, whether or not the OCR fully succeeded.
